My name is Chris Orr and I’m learning how to travel the world.
I started I Don’t Have The Map as a way for my family and friends to keep up to date with my travels because I was too lazy to send emails to all of them and now I guess it’s for everyone…
I was introduced to the concept of “long-term” travel as a 13 year old when I spent four weeks travelling up Queensland’s coast from Brisbane to Cairns. With a taste for adventure it was only a matter of time, and money, before I started doing things for myself.
After graduating from university, I spent three months crossing Europe by train with my good friend David “Dave” Bowman. When the money ran out, we were forced to come home.
A year later, with more cash in the bank, I headed to North America alone to travel around the continent. Once again though, the funds dried up and I was forced to return home.
Now, I am living and working in Melbourne as I try to come to terms with life as a traveller. I hope to learn how to travel on a budget and travel for longer, go further and experience so much more.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my adventures and maybe even find inspiration for your own journey!
